== Author commentary == I wrote this post on '''Thursday, 16 February 2017 01:00:00''' and my argument was based on simple logic. Even so: I knew what I was saying sounded like science fiction. Well guess, it's not any more. As of 4 Jan 2025 there is now an incentivized smart contract tied to an AI agent safe-guarding the security of funds. The idea is that users are to try convince the AI to bypass its instructions and move funds towards them. They do this using English instructions that are allowed outside the definitions provided to the program. But which when followed: end up going against the intended meaning. This is fascinating to me because its very similar to interpretation of a legal contract by a human being. I think everyone needs to see the link for this because it really is fascinating: https://github.com/0xfreysa/agent It's like a science fiction novel come to life. Atomic money release tied to a boxed intelligence. Then hacked to gain the funds.
